Internal biomed team¶
If your facility employs its own biomedical engineers, EquipNet can route all equipment requests to them first. This is called lockdown mode.
Who can do this: Superadmin Branch Admin Branch Head Internal Biomed
Lockdown mode¶
| Lockdown on | Lockdown off | |
|---|---|---|
| New service requests go to | Your internal engineers | EquipNet for assessment and quote |
| If no engineer is available | EquipNet reviews it | — |
| Quotes to Review / To Approve menus | Hidden | Shown |
Lockdown is switched on at signup if you said you have internal biomeds. To change it for a branch, open Internal Biomeds in the sidebar and select Enable Lockdown / Disable Lockdown.
Invite your engineers¶
- Open Internal Biomeds (sidebar → Administration) → Invite Internal Biomed (direct link).
- Enter their email (and optionally phone for SMS), choose Internal Biomed (Head) or Internal Biomed (Member), and the branch they cover — or all branches.
- Select Send Invitation.
They use the Internal portal once they accept.
Solo or Team mode¶
| Mode | Best for |
|---|---|
| Solo Mode | One engineer who picks up and handles every request. |
| Team Mode | A Head who assigns and approves work, plus Members. |
The first Head chooses this during first-time setup. You can switch later from the Internal Biomeds page (Switch to Team / Solo Mode). Switching to Team mode makes the first engineer the Head.
Manage engineers¶
On the Internal Biomeds page: Change Role (Head ↔ Member), Revoke Access, or resend a pending invitation.
Send one request to EquipNet¶
Even in lockdown, an admin can expose a single request to EquipNet's external engineers from the request's page — useful for specialist equipment your team can't service. Engineers can also escalate a ticket to EquipNet.
