QR codes¶
Every piece of equipment has its own QR code. Stick it on the device so anyone can scan it to see its history or report a fault.
Print QR stickers¶
Who can do this: anyone who can view equipment
- Go to Inventory → Download QR Stickers (direct link).
- Choose the branch (required), and optionally a department, date added or equipment type.
- Download the PDF sticker sheet and print it.
For a single item, open it and select View & download QR code label → Print.
Scan a QR code¶
Point any phone camera at the sticker. The equipment page opens — no app needed.
| Who scans | What they see |
|---|---|
| Anyone (not logged in) | Photo, key details, last 20 service requests, documents, and a button to report a fault. |
| Logged-in staff of the facility | The same, plus buttons for your role: Create a service request, record it in the active asset count, or Transfer / receive it. |
Details takes logged-in staff to the full equipment page.
Public fault reporting¶
Anyone at the facility can report a fault by scanning — without an account. This is how ward staff without EquipNet logins raise issues.
- Scan the sticker and choose to report a fault.
- Enter your name, designation, contact phone, a description, and the verification code for the department.
- Submit. Your internal biomed team is notified by email and picks it up.
Limits
Public reports work for medical equipment only, while the subscription is active. A similar open request blocks duplicates, and there are limits on repeated reports.
Verification codes¶
Verification codes stop outsiders from sending fake reports. Each department has a 5-character, case-sensitive code, and there is also one universal code for the whole facility.
Who can do this: Superadmin Head Internal Biomed
- Go to Verification Codes (sidebar → Administration).
- Generate a code per department (or use the universal code).
- Share codes with the ward staff — e.g. post them at the nurses' station.
After a refresh, a code can't be refreshed again for 7 days.
Maintenance & IT QR stickers¶
Facility maintenance issues (lights, plumbing, IT) use separate branch-level stickers. See Maintenance & IT.
